yo

Page will be up this evening.  Page is up now.  :)  Sorry for the long delay.  Why do I always think I'll have free time over the holidays?

trying to return to once a week updates

Alrighty, so I only have one final left.  It's hard not to start celebrating the break already.  But see -- as soon as I get some free time, what do I do?  I finish a new page!

Anyone else ever play this one ancient QBasic game called "Nibbles"?  It's basically the classic snake-eats-numbers-and-tail-gets-longer game.  Anyway, your snake is named Sammy, and you have a choice of three speeds:  Laughable, Yet Quietly Pathetic; Zippier Than a Really Zippy Thing; and Whoa! Twiddlefingers!  With faster computer clock speeds, the faster speeds of the game are now unplayable.  On Twiddlefingers speed, you're lucky if you can even change direction once before Sammy crashes into a wall, and the game says to you:  "Sammy dies.  Happy now?"

I have fond memories of that game.  :)

Anyway, about the comic . . . anything I need to say?  Yes, that is Gerquentrude wandering about.  They're back where they last saved.

how I spent my Thanksgiving holiday

Howdy. I have a new page, for your enjoyingment.

Yeah, I pretty much gave up on NaNoWriMo this year. Grand total, about 6000 words. Pathetic, I guess, but I just didn't feel the excitement this time around. Maybe it's because I have to write so many papers for school that writing just isn't relaxing. But also, I had a couple of weeks where I just didn't want to do anything creative. I think I've gotten over that, now. I guess I could try writing more, but a simple math inequality sums up my feelings:

introducing Kiaron > retelling Star Wars prequels

And so, I am continuing on with the comic, rather than NaNoWriMo. I have waited a long time for this chapter. I am quite excited about the upcoming pages, and hope you will find them enjoyousable, too.

sick but marginally productive?

Okay, so I finally got around to cleaning up one of the "On the Walkthrough" sketches I made last month. I sort of tried NaNoWriMo this year, but gave up by last week. I just can't get into it this year. I keep getting sick, plus I really am quite busy.

I don't feel like doing anything creative right now. I have 3 more "On the Walkthrough's", and by the time I get through all those, I'm hoping to have a new page done.

If nothing else, I decided I needed to draw something for the comic, so I started drawing a pic of the King of Orchard and the Old Summoner, as twenty-somethings. Upon further thought, it's quite improbable, since I think the King of Orchard is only in his 40s. Oh well. Time warp, anyone?

Edit:
I'd better clarify: I'm recycling my main page from last year. I'm only posting one sketch page at a time, since they're slightly better quality than last year. And I don't have as many as last year. So, yeah . . . just in case you vaguely cared.

I'll be going now.

what's up?

I am presently a bubbling puddle of creative worthlessness.

If you want something entertaining, you should check this out:

The famous opera Carmen -- super shortened, and rendered by legos. It's awesome.

Happy Candy/Costume Holiday

Yo. So yeah, I know this isn't a page. But I really, really wanted to draw it! I wasn't that excited for the new movie before, but now I think I am. Even though I know it's going to be an annoying 2-parter.

So, I'm sure you're wondering what to expect in the coming weeks for updates. NaNoWriMo is starting on Monday. Am I participating? I still don't know. I really don't have the time to write, just like I don't have the time to draw. But I still draw anyway, so I might just write anyway.

I've made 4 more "On the Walkthrough's" which will probably be posted this month. I will also try to do normal updates, unless I say otherwise here. Again I recommend subscribing to my RSS feed.

Anyhoo, have a fun Halloween. Don't get too sick on candy. I will attempt to follow my own advice, too. ;) See ya later!

yay

My last post was kind of depressing. But you know what? As soon as I started on the new draft of the page, it just flowed. It's already done. That's got to be record time for finishing a page! Yay!

Mm, it's October again. Time for something Halloween themed . . . in the next week or two. I have some ideas. Stay tuned. ;)

Anyway, have a great night. Don't procrastinate your homework. It's good for you . . . somehow . . . yeah.

Until next time, next page!

another week's update

Meh. Not a good week. I started the next page, but after struggling with it for days, I finally realized that it was all wrong. I'll have to start over. Which means that I had nothing to show you, so I drew you all a beautiful picture in paint.

Enjoy.

edit to old comic

Upon receiving some feedback, I added the words "Jordan said" to page 93. It was implied that he was the one who said that, but maybe it was a little too subtle.

Now it should be more clear why the heroes are questioning Jordan's intelligence.

Happy weekend!

Yallo

Hi there. I has a page. Yay!

Yeppers, page number 2 done on the new computer, and everything is working great now. I'm experimenting with the shading again. I also decided everyone really ought to be a bit tanner. I know it's one of my weaknesses to color things too light, especially skin. Hopefully I'll get it eventually.

I know the dialogue might seem a bit confusing, but if you reread at least this page and this page, it should make enough sense. I'm trying to keep the plot flowing, so there's no room for a page of exposition to clear up who said what and when.

Anyway, good night all!

Zombie artist

Yes, that means what you think it does . . . well, maybe.

But anyway, page is done!

My only comments on this page are that I was trying a new shading method, but I don't think I like it. Hmm. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

Oh yeah, and if you're like "what's up with the Blue Mage thing?" then go look at this page. It's not really that important right now, and I personally hate reading through a lot of exposition . . . so I'm just not going to explain anything. :D

Have a nice week!

weekly update? oops!

Hi all.  Yeah, I totally forgot to post anything last week.  Sorry!  But I am still alive (I think), and right now I am attempting to migrate my work over to a new computer.  Piece by piece.  It takes a surprisingly long time to personalize and set up a new computer.  So many things I took for granted.  Like fonts.

But anyway, work on page 102 is progressing.  I can't say if it will be done this week, although I would definitely like it to be.  I have some high-stress events coming up this week, and I know from experience that such things sap my creative will until they're over with.

To all of you in school as well, good luck to you!  I hope you all have a lovely week!

And by way of distraction, have you all seen this yet?  So funny!  Draco likes hamsters . . .

Don't die of shock now

I actually updated with a new page!

Yeah, my schedule is still murderous.  And I know the plot is not very satisfactory at such a snail's pace.  But hey -- I figure once a month updates are better than no updates.  And no, I have no idea how long it will take me to get the next page done.  I have the plot planned about 100 pages ahead, and I have sketches of the next 10 pages, so writer's block is not going to be an issue.

I didn't check references, but I was thinking of Grand Train and one of Magus's attacks when I drew Gerkie's spell, if you care.  Triangles of Doom!  Mwahahaha!

this week's update

Gaaaaaah!  I haven't even had time to do my homework this week!  Luckily, recruiting doesn't last all semester, but next week is going to be really brutal, since assignments are coming due.

Also, I have spent most of my (little) leisure/sleep time attempting to debug this computer's failure to connect to the network.  The fact that I'm posting now proves my success.  I don't know what caused the problem in the first place, though iTunes is my prime suspect.

If I don't draw something soon, I'm going to spontaneously combust. It's not happening tonight, though, as I need to get some sleep.

Hopefully I'll have something more satisfying to post soon.

current conclusion

This will be tolerable for now.  At least I don't have to refresh 5 or 6 times before I can get enough of the fields to appear that I can post something.

This doesn't look very elegant, though, so I'll still be looking for another solution.

test entry

Wordpress has consistently given me grief every time I attempt to post.  I don't know what the problem is, but it seems I cannot easily resolve it.  I see no reason to continue torturing myself with it.  This is an experiment.
