146 and 145 I guess

Huh, I forgot to make an entry for 145.  Looks like I finished it up on August 19th.  So many fire effects.  Argh, my pages have gotten way too complex.

Anyway, this concludes Chad's flashback.  I'm sure you're all very thrilled sad to finish his interminable glorious narrative and get back to the main plot.  Chad still gets a few more closing comments, though, so don't be too sad!

I'm not going to miss that pink dress, though, and neither will Chad.

too much crazy lately...

Between summer heat, camping, and all the intense drama of moving -- comic hasn't happened.  Obviously.  Hopefully that will change soon.  But I dunno how long it will take to get everything set up in the new place.  :P

Hope you're all enjoying your summer, meantime.  Stay cool, peeps!

144

Yay, I did it!

The migraines have eased up a bit, so that if I'm careful, I can get a good half hour to an hour working on the comic before I need to get off the computer.  As usual, most of the detail is lost in the file size, but this was a pretty complex page (that I went a bit overboard with).  16 layers.  Compared to 7 for a normal page.  Yeah.

But anyway, I hope the flow of action is clear enough here.  Even a dragon would be suspicious of a "maiden" that spontaneously catches on fire.  And next time, Chad continues his story of quest bravery delinquency.

Later peeps!

y so long no page?

Yo.  Anyway, should have posted this a while back, but lately my ability to look at a computer screen has gone waaaaay down.  As in, previously normal time spent on a computer will now give me a nasty migraine that lasts the rest of the day.  I'm slowly learning to manage this new setback, but it's definitely going to hamper my ability to get pages done.

Also, the next page is turning out insanely complicated.  I think this sets a new record for me for page complexity.  Sigh. Rough lines are done now, but there's still cleanup, coloring, effects (so many effects on this page!), speech bubbles, and final adjustments.  But at least it is progressing now.

In the meantime, anyone want to pipe up on what color Niedlesslylongnaem should be?  In my sketch he/she/it is pink, but I'm not feeling the pink on this one.

143

Woo!  Only a little more than a week since my last page!

Of course, this page was just super easy and fun to draw!  It's too bad I had to cover up Darron's face, because I really like how the expression turned out.

Let me introduce Chad's companions in panel two.  First is the Dark Knight (anyone want to suggest a real name for him?).  Next is Liam, whom I borrowed from a completely unrelated story and stuck in here just because when I went to start sketching character designs, the page I was using had a sketch of his head.  The third guy, and obvious leader, is Saber.  He's so much of a show off that he has TWO swords instead of just one.  Any resemblance to Chrono is blatantly deliberate totally coincidental.

I'm telling you all this now because it won't be important later.  Probably.

Anyhoo, Happy Groundhog's Day, and here's hoping that we all wake up and tomorrow is February 3rd!  Because if it's not, any progress I make on my comic pages will keep getting reset over and over and over...  ;)

Later, peeps!

142

Whew.  Sorry, I stalled for a couple of weeks on this one.  Perfectionism kicking in again, sigh.

But a couple of things.  First, I promise that I did not originally intend to use that terrible joke.  I was going to name the strip something boring.  But then . . . inspiration struck.  ;)

Second, I didn't notice at first that I accidentally entered all the dialogue in a smaller font size.  By the time I noticed, I had the dialogue just the way I wanted and didn't want to cut anything.  So please, please let me know if the dialogue is too small/hard-to-read for anyone.

Alrighty, until next time, next page!  See ya!
